Shiseido’s Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate is an eye serum that helps defend against damage caused by friction.
The Ultimune serum strengthens skin against daily damage and visible signs of aging for skin that’s 28% stronger in just 1 week. It has a silicone base that creates a protective barrier on the skin. That helps a little with protecting skin against daily damage, but it’s not as impressive as Shiseido makes it out to be.
One of the active ingredients in this Shiseido eye cream is ectoin, a substance that has been shown to help protect against UVA-related damage. The website also talks about yeast extract as an active ingredient in this formula—I think (but I’m not 100% sure) that they’re referring to sodium carboxymethyl beta-glucan.
Benefits
- Improves the appearance of the eye area by defending against daily damage caused by friction, like rubbing of the eyes
- Strengthens the eye area
- Restores firmness
- Skin is left looking smooth, radiant and firm
I really enjoy the effects of this product, but don’t see a necessity for it if you’re already using an eye cream. I’m using it as an eye cream right now. It blurs the crinkles around my eyes I see just when I smile, and feels smooth and velvety upon application. Quick absorption.
Great under makeup. I’m not sure how I feel about alcohol in an anti aging eye product, but it does feel and look great on my skin. Right now I’m just using eye creams as preventative measures and don’t have aging issues to treat, so I tend to try a lot of different products.
I really liked the original Ultimune power infusing serum concentrate, so when I found out that there was also an eye serum I knew I had to try it out! The first thing I noticed was how light it was and how soft my under eye was. I really enjoyed how quickly it absorbed into my skin and felt like the base for the rest of my skincare routine!
